The Practical Guide to the United States Constitution

The Practical Guide to the United States Constitution offers a historically accurate and entertaining owners’ manual for the founding documents. It covers the how’s, what’s, and why’s of the United States Constitution, but with a side of fun. The mission is simple: to make the Constitution so easy to understand even a career politician can grasp it.

This Practical Guide covers the underlying concepts of natural rights and consent-based government. Hint: it’s not to subpoena and investigate each other. The book also clarifies how each of the three primary founding documents, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, work together to define the goals, theory, and mechanics of the American system.

What readers have to say…

No heavy tome for law school students, ‘The Practical Guide to the United States Constitution’ is an engaging, fun read… in a civics primer, no less! Well done, Mr. McHale.

I enjoyed this guide of the Constitution. It was easy to read, witty, and it gave everyday explanations. While interpretation may be one thing… the actual words are quite simple. Tom did a nice job… I highly recommend this book for first time diving into the Constitution.

I totally enjoyed reading this book. It is written in an easy-to-understand and easy-to-follow manner. This book is written for those of us who do not use “bigly” words. I can see this book being used as supplemental reading at both the high school and college level. Yeah, it is that informative.

Any time a person can read, have fun and learn something new it’s a good deal! Buy this book now!

If high schools still taught a civics class this would be an excellent text for the teacher. Does a great job of explaining the lead-up to the Revolution, the mindset of the founders, and the true meanings behind the Articles of the Constitution and the amendments.

This book spelled out everything about the founding of the United States in the perfect amount of detail while adding humor to keep it interesting. It broke down every article/amendment/section in easy-to-understand paragraphs so that when it came time to read the full text of the declaration or constitution, the comprehension was extremely simple. If you want to learn about why the United States chose to be the way it is, and exactly how thirteen struggling colonies turned into a beacon of freedom for the world, then look no further than this book!

The Practical Guide to Reloading Ammunition

The Practical Guide to Reloading Ammunition

Learning how to reload ammunition can be a daunting task. Technical manuals and books full of arcane data can make the subject mysterious and overwhelming. No more! The Practical Guide to Reloading Ammunition teaches the subject in a fun, easy-to-understand, and safe manner.

Starting from the very beginning, The Practical Guide to Reloading Ammunition helps readers understand the gear they need – and what can wait. Chapter by chapter, the book explains the entire process from brass cleaning to final inspection. Loaded with pictures and illustrations, the process is made simple and clear. With this book, readers will be reloading their own cost-effective ammunition quickly and safely.

What readers have to say…

This book exceeded my expectations by a wide margin. Fun to read, but filled with very practical advice. Even experienced reloaders will likely learn a thing or two. Unlike reloading manuals written by one company, the author doesn’t push any particular brand of equipment or type of setup. He does an excellent job of explaining the basics you need to get started, and what extras you might or might not want to add later on. He actually encourages starting out inexpensively and points out that basic hand tools can work just as well, albeit more slowly, than fancy electric tools. This book would definitely be my first choice to recommend to anyone interested in reloading.

Great introduction to reloading. The author takes a complex subject and provides readers with a solid base of knowledge to help them prepare to dive deeper into reloading. Easy to read and entraining.

Very enjoyable book for the new loader- lots of tips, lots of ideas, practical steps for loading a bullet into a case, seating a bullet, crimping a bullet, case trimming — it’s all there! Tom adds a lot of humour to make this book enjoyable reading in a few hours.

I have now bought and read a couple of beginners books on reloading. Each has their pluses and minuses but this one, I believe, is superior to the rest. Primarily this book has a sense of humor about it which makes it more readable. I also like the way the tips are laid out, they are not hidden in the text and are easy to page back to.

I read this in one day and enjoyed it immensely. He gave me some important understandings that I didn’t have. The author has a good sense of humor that got a few chuckles out of me. I highly recommend this for the rank beginner. (or even the beginner who smells nice.)

I am new at reloading and thought I would give this book a try. I bought several other books before this one and had a general understanding of reloading (for a beginner). Wanted another opinion. This book was exactly what I needed. Very informative, easy to read, and understand. Great book for anyone wanting to get into reloading

The Practical Guide to Guns and Shooting: Handgun Edition

If you’re thinking about buying a gun, are new to shooting, or maybe you just aren’t as comfortable with the topic as you’d like, we can help you get up to speed quickly and easily. Like any new endeavor, learning the ropes of selecting and buying guns, ammunition, and accessories can be intimidating. We’ll walk you through everything you need to know to shoot correctly and safely.

What readers have to say…

For me, this book was terrific. A lot of basic info on handguns including safety, researching, buying, training, practicing, further reading… a really good primer. Valuable read without the confusing back and forth with the attitude you get in so many online forums. I got the sense Mr. McHale is truly concerned with the reader learning, he’s not just writing to show how smart or right he is. Funny too, had me actually laughing out loud while reading in a room by myself. Ok, that part was a little unnerving, but still… After reading about how to research, and then walk into a gun shop for the first time and behave well and ask the right questions, it took the nervousness out of it for me – gave me confidence, and made my first purchase enjoyable. Much thanks to Mr. McHale.

Very detailed. I really learned a lot. I’ve taken a gun class before and this book was just as informative if not more so. Get this book. It’s well worth your time and money.

This is a great book for anyone looking to buy a handgun for the first time and does not know where to start. The author breaks down the various types of handguns, what you will need to accompany the new purchase (holster, gun safe/action lock, proper cleaning tools, etc). There is also good information for new shooters on dry fire practice at home, how to establish a proper grip on the firearm, range etiquette and what to expect at a range. Handgun safety is discussed throughout the book, and how to apply it to various situations.

I’ve had my Concealed Carry license for 20 years. But I just recently decided I want to learn so much more. I don’t have any close family or friends near me, so I started researching and teaching myself. This book explained so much. I just can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate this tool. I highly recommend it for all beginner to intermediate shooters who are simply trying to educate themselves beyond just hitting a target. And the humor is very welcomed as well! It’s so simple to understand and breaks down absolutely everything.

My daughter told me she wanted to learn how to shoot a firearm and asked if I would help her. I told her I would happy to teach her the proper skills of owning, shooting, and responsible use of a firearm. The first thing I looked for was a good book concerning guns and the responsibility of owning and using them.

That’s when I ran across The Practical Guide To Guns and Shooting by Tom McHale. Before I gave it to my daughter I thought I would skim through it first to see if it was any good. As it turned out I read the whole book in half the day and learned a few things myself. What I really liked about the book other than a ton of good information, is the author’s style of writing. He uses humor though out the book to make learning points. It is very effective and makes the reading fun. I highly recommend this book for both amateurs and knowledgeable folks. I guarantee you will learn something.

Tom McHale did a great job of covering everything a beginner or even moderately experienced person needs to know about handguns, from buying to safety to shooting range etiquette to all the basics of shooting a handgun and resources to learn more. Highly recommended!

The Practical Guide to Gun Holsters for Concealed Carry

The Practical Guide to Gun Holsters for Concealed Carry

Let’s face it. Choosing the best way to carry a gun can be a daunting task. Whether you’re new to guns or have been shooting since you were a wee tot, this book can help you understand concealed carry methods, how to carry a gun safely, and the relative pros and cons of over 120 specific holster models. We’ll even teach you several ways to carry a gun in your underwear.

This book will help you make the right choice – saving you time and money – while offering a dose of humor while you learn.

The editors at MyGunCulture.com have painstakingly documented all the holsters we’ve tried over the years and provided helpful commentary about pros and cons of different holster styles. In other words, we’ve tried just about everything. We’ve had great successes. We’ve experienced colossal failures. We’ve listened to so many gun show huckster sales pitches that the late Billy Mays would be impressed. And the result? The Practical Guide to Gun Holsters for Concealed Carry.

What readers have to say…

Own a pistol? Buy Tom’s book. He will save you the cost of his book and more. Seriously. My bin of holsters is a testimony to this truth. You buy a pistol. Then, you get a holster. Could be any. Then, you decide you might want to carry it every day, and you another–not one of those black, strappy, military-looking, low-slung gunfighter rigs this time but a carry holster. Then, you learn you should have bought a “quality” holster. You scour the web, read the recommendations, and buy one for $75. Now, you think you have done the right thing, and you own at least $150 worth of holsters. Then, you decide to shoot IDPA and your IWB holsters don’t cut the mustard. You scour the web again and spend another $35 on an outside-the-shoulder Kydex holster. You shoot some IDPA and listen to some guys mocking your holster and you realize you should have bought a Blade-tech or something. Another $65.

Buy Tom’s book. Save money. Tell you what: even if you don’t shoot at all, buy it anyway. Tom’s a comedian.

Great advice fr those looking to find a holster for their pistols and revolvers. Written in a humorous manner, it’s fun to read and does contain a lot of good advice for picking a holster. The author attempts to cover all the reasons and ways to carry a gun and give suggestions on how to find a product that fits that need.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone starting out carrying a firearm concealed – both average people and law enforcement. It may not prevent the ubiquitous “holster drawer” but it might help keep the population down. Seriously – buy this book before you go out and buy holsters willy-nilly and waste a bunch of money.

If you are looking for an informative, engaging, and humorous review of all the ways you can carry your gun, this is the book for you. From the Glock flying out of the shirt collar in Chapter 2 (you’ll just have to read it for the rest of the story), to the discussion in Chapter 8 of the right kind of belt to wear, to the carry options specific to the fairer sex in Chapter 12, to the excellent advice about carrying extra magazines in Chapter 17, this book is definitely practical. You’ll find this book useful and fun whether you are looking for your first holster, or are frustrated with the several you have already purchased, or have one you like and are looking for another. On the other hand, you could just keep buying holsters until you have a whole box full.

I picked this up yesterday on my phone’s Kindle and am only about 1/4 of the way through its 259 pages. I’ve been carrying since the mid-’80s and consider myself pretty in tune with the various carry methods and hardware that are available these days. And I’m really impressed by how good The Insanely Practical Guide To Gun Holsters is. It’s fun to read, it’s really very well-thought-out, and it’s amazingly thorough (I could only find one make of holster that I routinely carry that is not covered – and I learned about several more types of which I was unaware) and up-to-date. Fine illustrations and very handy hotlinks, too. I am just joining the choir here as I note there have not been any reviews under 5 stars, but if you are interested in holsters, you might check this out. I’m recommending it to several friends.

I bought this book to gain information about what’s available for concealed carry. I gained much valuable info from reading this. The writer’s style is interesting and amusing at the same time very informative. I particularly liked the fact that each holster mentioned in this Kindle edition, is linked so you can go to the manufacture’s Website and view the holster. I think I’ve found the one I want for summertime carry here in the Nevada desert through this book. Thanks for the help, Tom.
